whatever, replace the tow car with whatever makes you happy.

replace the car and tow one of these behind it:

although nothing will get you through 3 sub zero days in Hueco like a motorhome and $2 movies.

Element AWD.

Small-ish. Honda reliability. Converts to sleeper. Ecamper and tent options.

And shitty MPG. I didn't think Honda still made a car that only gets 20/25.

Huh? WRX is very roomy. I don't even have the seat at the rear most position, and there's plenty of headroom.

This.

Although I wouldn't mind a second option for economy.

if you are sitting in the back of a car like this, you're so cheap you don't deserve the little room you do get. lol.

the dang car is so little you should go and get yourself your own damn car!

plus they're supposed to be all italian pop chic on the inside and shit.

In looking at the resale value of Subarus, it seems they hold value very well. It makes me consider getting new. I bought new once before and decided that I would never do it again. But if a 2008 outback with 20K miles is only a few thousand less than a comparable new model, why not new?

from this day forward I will only buy 1 of 4 cars.

A Toyota pick-up,
A Honda Accord station wagon,
Subaru wagon,
Volvo wagon.

Anything else is a waste of money. And if you are counting on your car to get you laid, consider yourself a lost cause.

^^^ Good list.

Pmahn:

Hmm...

Well dude a few thousand gets you a sweet Canon 5d and a nice macro lens to boot...

If you have $30k in the bank, then shit just buy new for the peace of mind and don't worry about the money. If you are financing a large portion of the price, consider getting an older one that has depreciated more. Instead of looking for one with 20k miles, get one with 75k miles and save yourself the additional cash. The car has taken its full depreciation hit at that point, and you will be able to cover any problems that might crop up. My brother just bought a sweet Outback wagon with 85k miles for $7.5k in Portland. It should serve him well for years to come.

The only reason I bought the WRX new was I wanted a turbo, and felt it was risky to buy a used one. Would I buy new again? Not if it was a natural aspirated model. But If I ever get a STI, I'll be buying it new.
