The only negative of Hueco in January is not that it's "full" (or "closed") - that's already been repeatedly debunked.
It's that it is full of douchebags on their christmas breaks.
If you can tolerate that sort of idiocy then it's the right choice.

As one of those douchebags, I wholeheartedly agree. As a personal sacrifice, I'm staying home to do FAs for my Christmas break.

That sounds pretty good. The lady and I will be in Chatt this weekend; let's get it together.

I lived in Chatt for a while; there are always secret roofs around that porch doesn't know about.

Gloria's with a tarp and torch. 2nd tier and up stays nice year round as long as it gets some sun.

This is why I am going in February this year. Maybe I'm one of those douchebags anyway.

there's a great pic of pander on moonshine (page 67, if you care to look) in the latest DPM; as fine a pic as it is (nice work on all the shots, merock; is that kwink/future mrs. blimp as well?), the photo depicts exactly why I don't go to Hueco when I have time off.

That's one of my versions of hell.

I'd rather climb the 3 problems on moonshine roof in the midst of a 15 person douchebag tour than repeat anything I've done out east....

of course nobody showed me the secret roooofs when I was there

Oh, you're right: the problems on moonshine are about as good as bouldering gets. But I'm kind of a shitty climber, so I spend more time on the ground than I do actually climbing. And I don't like crowds.

But remember: I'm only talking about when I have time off--which is when everyone has time off. If I was there in, say, November or March, I think I'd be happy.

I just hate people. Can't help it. And I think I've gotten to the point that I'd rather go somewhere undeveloped and empty than the fully padded and prepped.

Oh, and the secret rooooofs are amazingly enormous and the problems abundant and delicious.

Another beautiful day--I'm inside.

FML for about 4 more hours.

Good thing it's gonna snow this weekend.
