Three stops down. Why so overexposed? Effect is lost on me. This is a good shot.

Thats because you're looking at the whites and not the yellows. The overexposed whites don't really bother me and it leaves the colours intact for the rest of the scene. Three stops down it looks flat and muted. Not really worth it just to get the whites right.

Dude it's not even the whites I'm looking at... It's the background. So much more contrast and depth in my version IMO. Your version just looks washed out and the yellows don't even stand out to me.

Seriously? I mean who knows maybe one of us needs to get out monitors calibrated... (not being a smartass maybe its mine...)

But your version just looks like a whitewashed mess on my screen. On my screen even your yellos are clipping, which puts your whites at 110+ IRE which is just BLOWN THE FUCK OUT.

I'll check it through our vectorscope at work, but I'm pretty sure my screen is pretty much dead on.

I mean maybe not THREE stops but AT LEAST two. But I guess it's personal pref...

The top photo looks like it was taken in the sun. The bottom photo looks like a dark day.

I can see how SUNflowers benefit from looking like they are blowing around on a sunny day.
