Probably a good thing. Who wants to grill in a disco ball?

I've read about those before, actually. Curious why they're so much cheaper, when it seems they use more ceramic. The 18" 401lbs compared to the BGE at 140lbs. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Who cares. Money can't buy taste so your nice house ends up with a disco-ball grill. Dab.

I think the number one requirement in a grill for me is the ability to set it up and walk away. I agree that making BBQ an event is a nice thing, but setting a ceramic grill up to roast a hunk of meat while you slumber in bed is a very valuable thing if you want to bring frequency of use up in your day to day life. I would really like to roast large pieces of beef, like rib roasts, for many hours. With a ceramic grill you wouldn't even have to open the thing once during the cook. There simply is no better design on the market the only downside is the price. I just can't pull the trigger on one. Not yet anyways.

I used to, when I had a balcony. Current digs are without one, though. That's going to be fixed when the lease is up, hopefully.

a smoker's an easy party to set up- old barrel stove- bury it in a sloping sand hill. one or two lengths of stovepipe, depending on how hot you want your smoker to run, buried in sand and then an elbow up into a 45 gallon drum. the oil drum has holes punched in it for metal rods to run through, holding up grills at different heights. a piece of plywood goes on top. mossaic tile optional.
