This is a fun number to calculate!

I'm at 73% of my life spent climbing. Siiiick.

In a couple of years, b.com will be 50%... so psyched on that as well.

Don't worry Joules, being 30 is awesome. Except just about everyday something aches or pains. And you're finally held accountable and people expect you to know what you're doing or talking about. But other than that, it's amazing.

I tried to catch mountain goats in the black hills. they won.

true story: we were flooded out of Moab. that had been an adventure there and back so far. I knew of a couple of caves behind a few presidents' heads in North Dakota. don;'t pretend this just started now. this has always been a crazy idea to blast figure heads into the rock.

camp in the first cave for a while. shared KD With a local crew. got flooded out.

there is a second cave across the creek behind the monument. we camped out there.

woke up in the dark of a cave. stretched out and drank from the creek. then chased some mountain goats. they won. naturally. they have hooves.

Correction- the caves of refuge were in South Dakota, right behind Mount Rushmore.

I like how the US doubles up on its states, north and south,

a sense of awe and astonishment implies that it is difficult to fit an experience into a frame, or to give it clear significance. mt rushmore is like that for me.

we got kicked out of parks both in front of the presidents' faces, and behind them. apparently there is no climbing policy in front, and a no sleeping in caves policy behind the presidents' heads carved into mountain faces.

true story.

triple post on mt rushmore... impressive

but bruh should you really be sleepin in caves? were you in tents in the mouths out the caves? were they big caves like ones down by rivers? more cave details needed.

some of my best sleeps have been in caves. there is something deeply settling about finding refuge in a cave. nylon walls cannot compare.

so there are actually 2 caves across the creek from each other behind mt rushmore. we camped first in the darker cave, to the left looking upstream. that was the staging ground for the early morning mountain goat chase that set the tone for that campsite.

we were rained out of that first cave, and moved camp in the dark to the cave across the creek. that one is set up from the creek, higher up, airy and with nice ledges for sitting in it.

Try keto but instead of all that silly fat, eat like 4x as much protein that ate what it was supposed to eat. I'm not a doctor but I just lost 40 pounds in my mid 40's and all my aches and pains disappeared. Also, the wife has multiple auto immune disorders and the fore mentioned changed her reality levels upon levels. Good luck.

I turned 39 last week, and I’m doing just fine. Thinking up some cool home gym stuff to build in addition to lots of time outside. I’ve spent the last few years doing hard stuff in some great areas, and I only plan on getting stronger.
