As legit as a 90s all-rigid mtb?

Maybe.

those were very legitimate times. big wheels. wide handlebars. gears you shifted with your thumbs. it was a thing and it's probably good people are still riding in that style. god bless the 1990's and unicrown forks. like a sneeze of bicycles.

and yet when the first gen rock shox came out, it was pretty mind bending.

where did bar ends get to? scott at4s were the best at bashing through brush.

apparently there's a new human powered speed record for a bike, almost 140km/hr.

Always wanted those Scott at4 pro handlebars but now I know they just look like what homeless dudes use to ride bikes lol.

I'm pretty much limited to road riding, which I hardly ever do anymore. I have a great (for me) Cervelo waiting for me though.

Actually, sometimes it serves that purpose. Never said I was any good.

Those aren't homeless dudes. They're Ivy League sophomores.

Riding single track by headlamp adterwork in the late fall is the TITS! Ride so much better in the small focus of light when you can't see all the goblins waiting in the shadows to jump up and bite your ass.

I already had to try to blind a deutschebag in a 5 series just to get him to see me at dusk... I think I need a reflective vest.

Well I have one of those. And it is really really nice and when I ride in the cold there is some part of me that wants the heated seats. But dammit. When I am in my fly German luxury touring machine sitting in traffic, there is some huge huge part of me that just wants to PEDAL dammit. So fuck it. Cars are for hauling crash pads and bikes are for hauling ass past a long line of cagers on the way to work.

Some days there are 50mph winds. They are always head winds.
