it's a matter of who helps who here. bouldering brought big advances to sport climbing, then trad. sure , let's do big wall next.

true story- camping at the little pond in front of turkey? eagle? talon? rocks in western ontario, in an attempt to free an aid climb there. really, there are aid climbs in western ontario, on the edge of the canadian wheat fields. aid climbing is how farmers imagine rock climbing. anyways, camped with this really fascinating group that included a really great czech woman. we went skinny dipping while two of the party slept in homemade portaledges on a 100' cliff. victory.

reality is fragmented, and so is any kind of searching approximation of it. i think the canadian experience does play this out somewhat- 3 founding nations, our head of state is still the queen or her representative, sovereignty is always someplace else. again, a basic confusion that is probably something like the truth.

the moral of the story is to leave portaledges to desperate moments. basecamp is closer to the boulders and nightswimming venues.

2 new areas cleaned here- no fa's, but intriguing enough to train for a winter to be able to climb at least something. one area has an intact deer skeleton in a cave, one overlooks a pond, with fins and tall problems. schist. schist is something we should all understand. interesting kind of rock.

Yo .. anytime you want to check out the Jim THorpe boulders let me know. It's limited as hell and it's a lonng drive for you, but there's more than enough freshy fresh for a good weekend.


But I will reiterate .. It's NEPA .. don't expect too much. But this roof is awesome and it clocks in around 10 pts. yes this is a fail vid, yes I know thats lame. But I had just found it and cleaned it .. wanted to try it. He sent as soon as the weather cooled and the top out slopers weren't so greasy.
