Hot summer night bouldering lamps

Yo... a freaking bouldering related topic for once.

I've been hitting up a few zones at night due to the mid-day heat factor; with a headlamp. The problem with headlamps is that they predominantly suck. I used to use coleman lanterns, but the mantles or glass would always bust. A friend started using these LED wands that seem fairly effective, but I don't know wtf they're called.

I'm not going the floodlight/tripod/generator route due to the length of approaches here.

Any ideas I may be missing?

Input would kick ass.

deep cycle motorcycle size battery + small fan-less inverter + 2-3 LED lights == awesome, bright, and long lasting.

key is to recharge the battery as soon as you get home, leaving it in a partially discharged state for longer than a day or two on a regular basis will kill it

If you don't want to carry a battery around, this looks like a promising thing, what with the rechargable battery and adjustable tripod legs you can aim it up towards a boulder...

I think with lights, if you try a few before you find something that works, you end up with multiple light sources, which is good.

those things are 40 lumens. the LED lights I have are 900 each (usually bring 2-3). lights up a cave like daylight. battery isn't really that heavy, its 10 lbs or so, so one person brings the lights, the other person(s) bring the beer. They last about 6 hours on a charge, long enough to stay up wayyyyy too late.
