Needed a BMX upgrade so I ordered a beautiful Sunday Pro complete from Dan's Comp.

A few months later I find out a legit BMX frame builder has set up shop just down the road.

Just learned to half-cab and got metal pegs.

METAL DESTRUCTION!!!

You know BMX and bouldering have a lot in common. They're both scary. You're always looking for new "spots" which is the equivalent of "boulders". It doesn't look that hard but is hard as shit. You have to cry yourself into oblivion over not making the trick like you would not sending your project. But what I have learned is that BMXers don't assign a difficultly number to tricks or spots and actually value style as much as difficulty. Also, there's much more appreciation for creativity. It seems like in bouldering that the first person who climbs a boulder problem restricts all subsequent ascents to the way it was initially done, and that any variation in the line is usually frowned upon or seen as a contrivance whereas in BMX if you do the same trick at the same spot no one gives a shit cause it's already been done ABD. It would be nice if climbers could think outside of the box, like BMXers and skateboarders, and climb the rock in the way that they want without having to put an arbitrary number on climbs and to focus more on climbing with style. I don't see the point in watching another video of some shaky-ass, gangly 20 year old with terrible form sending a v11 that's ABD like 37 times. What's artistic about that? Who cares?

When you're right, you're right.

There is a distinct lack of style to bouldering. I don't give a fuck how strong you are when somebody styles the fuck out of something I raise an eyebrow in appreciation no matter the grade. Conversely, I can watch some gym tard thrutch up a V13 and not give a shit at all. It's all in the beholder brah. BMX on.
