I must spray for a minute

Totally psyched because I was invited to go to Florida to help with health assessment of the wild dolphin population (unrelated to my job). On the downside, this might be the last health assessment before they get coated in oil and die.

True. They have been doing this for years so I am sure they know what they are doing so no one gets impaled by a dolphin penis.

Unfortunately we aren't allowed to bring our own cameras but I was told they will have a professional photographer there. If I am able to get a copy of the pictures I will post them.

well...............

your valid then.

darned,

i dislike it immensely when those people that say those things say that you can't take photos of cool stuff.

definitely an obstacle to validation through pix.

maybe you can get the pro photographer to take pix of you in a bikini acting like one of the girls in those http://www.reef.com pix like the ones that guy who used to post here used to post.

you know,

with an oily girl dolfin.

that would be totally shrn!

slim woul prolly like that as a gift.

Well, I'm going to be on the Atlantic side of Florida so I won't be seeing the destruction first hand. Apparently the current whips around the tip of Florida and the oil may eventually hit the Atlantic side.

As much as I would like to help out with the oiled animals, I don't handle animal suffering very well.

You're all about providing animals pleasure by swabbing them rectally. And that's why I love you.

There is a whole colony of sea lions who really, really miss you.

And soon the dolphins will join them.

Yea, use tax dollars to study dolphins that are about to die. Government waste!

If you paid attention to my first post you would see that I said this was unrelated to my job (not government supported).

I interpreted "unrelated to my job" as unrelated to whatever you specialize in currently, but still somehow managed or funded by that enormous government entity in some way. My apologies for assuming you were wasting tax dollars studying soon to be dead dolphins.

So much for scientific inquiry. What are they afraid of? What exacty does an 'assessment' consist of?

There is a hired photographer that is there to take pictures. The main concern for everyone else on the trip is human and dolphin safety and therefore they don't want people distracted by trying to take photos (also no cell phones allowed). Another issue is because marine mammals are a protected species if you are doing work with them you have to have a permit and their are very specific rules about photography/videography (they don't want someone with a research permit to make money by selling pics/video).

If you want to know what "assessment" is look at the link I posted earlier.

The project is fully funded by Florida citizens that register their vehicles and voluntarily pay extra for these plates:
