still waiting...

roast chicken and mashed potatoes tonight. chicken smothered in garlic + mustard+ soy sauce+ olive oil+ S&P= so good roasted on an on-going winter's night. browned and roasted in the smallest little cast iron pan that would snuggle the bird in.

otherwise, it was drive through coffee AND GRILLED CHEESE sandwiches re-toasted on a waxing iron.

yup, Lox people call them that here too. my sense of the language there was to try not to obfuscate for the sake of making a new food word up.

it does somehow seem like a more fulsome food experience though to have a specific name for the thing you're eating. it makes the food more of a thing, tastier because it means something.

Every bite is ponderous wonder, that's my goal, barring distraction.

chicken broth keeps longer if you heat it up it through the week.

chicken pot pie two ways: authentic, meaning last night's leftovers- roast chicken, roast yellow carrots, diced, green beans, bbq corn, mashed potato crust. and the real home-school way, from my grandma: mushroom soup, canned corn, canned veg. tenderflake crust. the feeling of home is a collective make believe.

fresh off the boat, redact:

Chicken parm? Isn't that some specialized obamacare food? Not being racist. just being realistic. I reckon you can cook mad chicken parm. Italian cheese .

pretty much finished eating Yodel the cow. just a tongue and tail remain. the ski team had a feast today, with barbecued large burgers, chili, rice, coleslaw- made of pickled shallots, pickled vidalia onion, napa cabbage, mayonnaise. we ate so much cow this afternoon, then played scrabble.
