I love numbers. For example 500000 new cars sold in 3 weeks. 2 billion in revenue for the auto industry. Yeah the govt took YOUR tax money (I don't pay taxes so..) and paid people to give up their old beaters so they could afford something better.

This discussion is centered around Cash for Clunkers. To some, it was successful stimulation of the lagging auto industry that upped our average national MPG. To others, it was a waste of taxpayer money.

This is indicative of many of the social services our people demand from the government. People are quick to call walfare recipients or cash for clunker participants socialist shiteaters; however, question the usefulness of the CDC and you get a lecture about the role of government. Would you question the value of the state-sponsored k-12 education that serves as the foundation for the skills you need to participate in this thread? Would you question the need for government support that brought electricity, water, and roads to your little desert town?

Nope. "Shiteaters" are just the people who use the government services you DON'T support... while you are content to feel superior to those people, while demanding more services you DO support.

I honestly don't know which is worse- the shiteaters who actually DO look to the government for free handouts or the shiteating hypocrits who think their shit don't stink and is in fact, somehow a tastier version of the welfare shit.

In Flag, if your clunker stops working and it's parked on your lawn for a certain amount of time, there is a taxpayer funded initiative to remove those vehicles because they are unsightly.

Wow those are amazing numbers... Lets see the numbers in the next month when the car dealers won't be able to move any cars off of the lot and have tremendous excess inventory. How much tax money have the car companies already received from the gov't? You talk about the lower class suffering......how does cash 4 clunkers help the lower class? How many cars went to people that cannot afford them? So now they have another loan to default on? Costlier used cars to buy? Just because they were able to off their inventory on a gov't cash orgy doesnt mean a god damned thing economy wise. The real question is, as lox pointed out, where does this end?
