N00bs are the future, but what will ruin climbing is that is being invaded by douchebags, new 5.10 shoes are douchey, so was their street team, douchey parkour. I blame Ivan.

Remember when you got your first biner... pad?.. couldn't wait to get out and get shutdown by your next project? That move that had eluded you forever came together with mental prowess and hard work.

Everyone starts somewhere. You're not as cool as you think.. some 6 yo kid is crushing boulders in his backyard cuz there are no trees.

It's all about having a good time. You can't ruin climbing unless elitist fucksticks make a scene... and yea, they're being douchebags cuz their either hammered, antisocial, or just plain stupid. Ok.. look down on some neophyte kid all psyched on climbing, take 2 years off and see how things compare. Does it really matter? I think not.

Climbing has been ruined by urban climbing gyms. Happened a long time ago.

Noobs are the salvation for climbing.

If not for noobs buyign shit they don't need, probably don't understand and most likely will not use 6 months from now, climbing companies would never stay in business to produce the shit that we want.

Next time you are at the crag, Thank a noob. Without them, you would be lucky to still be climbing in a 20 year old pair of Eb's.

In all reality, the focus on fitness and climbing for personal achievement is probably at an all time high. A healthier genre of climbing is now in it's prime, which is a good thing in many respects.

I grew up in a scene where beer, weed and socializing were prioritized and everyone was wondering why they couldn't send shit. The oldschool tough-guy, dirtbag mentality of climbing has since dissipated into the backdrop of the climbing scene, and never had much of a bright future.

but yes, i do believe billy blanks has ruined boxing.

I haven't climbed in over a year. That means I get to be n00b f@#kstick all over again. It's like going back to highschool knowing that you already graduated college and used ot be so much cooler than you are now. sweetness.

worse. lack of motivation. I moved from CO to PA and that was that. 30ft pristine granite nuggets to 10ft contrived dirt burglers. Oh well. On the flip side I did see a boulder in Pkill called Kill Whitey. When it gets cold enough I will be climbing it. SO sick. very perty.

N00bs have definitely ruined the sport in the past eight years.

True dat. The only way to be authentic anymore is to stick to climbing chossy ice filled cracks at 18,000+ feet.

If I'd known you were into trashed hats, I'd have saved the Patagonia hat my dogs used to play tug-of-war for you.
