I am not really into climbing mags, but I was reading an OR show provided copy of urban climber this morning and in their "unearthed" feature they interviewed an (I think) attractive woman that is a vet.

She states in the article that in large-animal medicine, collecting ejaculate from a male horse requires helmet use.

ET, why is that? Is she confused about eye protection?

There was an episode of Dirty Jobs that featured such an activity. Horse hooves aren't known for being pillow-like upon contact with a skull.

That would be my friend Heather. She is apparently a pretty badass vet here in Vegas. She also redpoints hard 5.13, so she climbs ok too. In that photo in UC, she's climbing the infamously manufactured Yaniro route' "The Equalize," which he had drilled to fit his wife's small fingers. She says the other reason she doesn't do large animal medicine is the rectal exams. Ew.

You learn to appreciate them when they are the only thing keeping you warm at 6 am on the dairy visits.

I recently detonated one foolishly warming up on the painfully "set" Witness This, if ya know it. Closing down hasn't seen an ascent in a while. Painful.
