first time in 5 years.

You and everyone else.

One of my favorite places in the world; enjoy.

Me too. My wife took me here on my first outdoor climbing trip back in 1999. We spent at least 15 to 20 weekends a year here for the subsequent 5 or 6 years. Injuries and life got in the way and I haven't been down in nearly 5 years.

I am heading down early so hope to get some climbing in at the lake before the crowds arrive then head to lesser known areas once the hordes of newbie chuffers arrive.

I was there a few weeks ago--despite brutal humidity--and it's not too bad during the week. The whole place is busier, though, especially the Meadow, than it's ever been. I blame guidebooks.

15-20 weekends a year: that's some good stuff. As I said, enjoy!

I heard that it's now illegal to jump, but not to fall; the rangers are, apparently, making a distinction between drunken redneck shenanigans and sobering rock-scaling shenanigans. Not so sure I believe this though.

After hearing my friend Tater's account of his bridge rope jump, I've got no interest.

Of course I know it. But do the rangers know it? Or do they think that we're a responsible and legitimate user group offering money and a touch of class to WV?

Never mind.

Anyone in Squamish met an Australian chick called Cassie? Facebook tells me she's in/has been in Squamish. We went to school together, but both started climbing afterwards. Cool story, huh?

just think of all the FA's that never really happened becauses there are no pix of the event.

kinda opens things up.

the new validity is the FPA or FVA.

another new category: FAKBP first ascent key beta participant.
because the guy that unlocks the key beta right before his friend sends with it on the next burn deserves a feather.

we've been having some philosophical discussions on the matter and hope to release a white paper soon.
