I was chatting with a friend at the gym earlier. Getting old certainly causes longer recovery times. He’s rehabbing a messed up tendon in his elbow, and I’m working on a pulley tendon. At least I can still climb.

I usually take a strict month and a half off after a tendon injury

case studies show that recovery time is faster and you come back stronger faster... vs someone that tries to climb with an injured tendon

Yeah, I saw that documented case study.
I am doing my own independent study by climbing on Jugs and not using the finger on holds that the finger would otherwise be used to pull hard on...grabbing Jugs with the pads on my hand and haven't had an issue with it feeling tweaked since the injury 20 days ago almost. it is tight after a session. I always wash my hands with cold water for at least a minute after each session.

I tweaked the tendon in early August. I definitely took the time off. I’m back to climbing reasonably hard stuff (hard for a 46 year old chuffer anyway), and am getting the endurance back.

Both are still original, right one has been scoped twice and the femur head was reshaped. Left one has basically the same issues but not as far along.
